Welcome to our website!

In the early twentieth century the Croatian people embraced the great ideals of the Radić brothers and joined the branches of the HPSS in large numbers. These branches promoted education, through which national awareness and self-confidence grew. Croatian cooperatives, the Croatian Sokol and other organizations were founded.

Our ancestors brought these noble principles to Canada and officially founded HSS Ontario as early as 1933. In the following years they continued their work across Canada, promoting patriotism and the sovereignty of the Croatian state.

Annual Meeting of the Main Committee

The annual meeting of the Main Committee of HSS Canada took place in Montreal on May 5, 2018.

Thanks to our hard-working hosts, the members and friends of the “Petar Svačić” branch, both the delegates’ accommodation and the running of the meeting went off in a very pleasant atmosphere. Our hosts’ effort and care could not have been better.

The business session was marked by constructive and tolerant discussion, and decisions were taken that will do a great deal to improve the work of HSS as a whole.

Every branch pledged to get more involved in adding content to our website and to do its part to make the site a real success. The old problem of our hall in Schumacher should also finally be put to rest, once a working group led by the president visits Schumacher and talks with the members of the club there.

Thanks once more to our hosts in Montreal for their warm hospitality and excellent organization. We hope that next year’s convention in Sudbury will be just as successful.
