OTTAWA—Her Excellency the Right Honourable Julie Payette, Governor General of Canada, is pleased to announce that Her Excellency Kolinda Grabar-Kitarović, President of the Republic of Croatia, and Mr. Jakov Kitarović will undertake a State visit to Canada from May 12 to 17, 2019.
During this visit, the President and Mr. Kitarović will visit Ottawa, Toronto, Hamilton and Calgary. This will be the first State visit to Canada by a Croatian president since that country’s independence. The detailed schedule of events will be issued at a later date.
Croatia is a valued partner for Canada in the North Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), the United Nations (UN) and the European Union (EU). Croatian-Canadians make important contributions to Canada’s multicultural society.
